The Estate Planning Seat

Attorney Partner — Selection Underway

Bull Run features one estate planning firm, not a directory of them. We are choosing the practice that will hold this seat now — a firm we will work with directly on trust design, wealth transfer, and asset protection for the families we manage money for.

The Seat

One firm, chosen on purpose

Most advisory firms keep a list of attorneys and hand it over. We keep one. The estate planning firm on this page is the firm we call, the firm we sit in meetings with, and the firm whose work has to hold up next to a portfolio we manage ourselves. That is a narrow seat, and it is the reason we are deliberate about who fills it.

01
Trusts, not templates
Revocable and irrevocable trust design, wealth transfer, and asset protection built around a real balance sheet — not a document package sold at a seminar.
02
We work the file together
Titling, beneficiary design, and funding decisions get made once, with the attorney and the portfolio manager in the same conversation. Clients should never be the messenger between two professionals.
03
Reachable, at a normal size
A practice a client can actually get on the phone. We favor firms of roughly one to twenty-five people, with a modern intake process and no hoops in front of a first conversation.
04
Referrals both ways, no economics
Nothing is paid in either direction. We send work because the work is good, and we expect the same. That keeps the advice clean and it keeps our fiduciary duty uncomplicated.
If You Are a Client

Nothing about your plan is on hold

Estate work has always been coordinated by Chris. That has not changed while the seat is being filled, and it will not change afterward — the attorney is a specialist we bring in, never a handoff.

Existing counsel
If you already have an estate attorney, we keep working with them directly. There is no requirement to move, now or later.
Need one now
Tell Chris what you are trying to accomplish and he will introduce you to counsel suited to it, rather than pointing you at a list.
Already handled here
Account titling, beneficiary designations, trust registrations at Schwab, and coordination with your trustee are done inside Bull Run and always have been.
When the firm is named
You will meet them. We will introduce the practice on this page and to every household it is relevant for — no quiet swap.
For Attorneys

If this is your practice, say so

We manage money for roughly a hundred households across four proprietary equity strategies, custodied at Schwab, and the estate side of those relationships runs through one firm. If you build trusts for clients like these and you want to work with an advisor who will actually pick up the phone, the introduction starts with an email.

Bull Run Investment Management, LLC is a fee-only Registered Investment Adviser (CRD #306763). Referral relationships described here involve no compensation in either direction. Registration does not imply a certain level of skill or training.
