Brian Wendroff, CPA

Tax and Accounting Planner | CPA

Brian Wendroff founded Wendroff & Associates, CPA, in 2006 following four years of Military service, including a tour at the Pentagon for the Secretary of Defense’s Office and work experience as a staff accountant at the International Accounting Standards Board in London, England, and a local CPA firm. He quickly established himself as an “Entrepreneur’s CPA” and an expert in technologically advanced accounting systems, being one of the first firms nationwide to offer complete online accounting solutions.

Since its inception, Wendroff & Associates has witnessed yearly growth under Brian's leadership, focusing on enhancing the firm's business advisory services. These services include outsourced business & CFO consulting, budgeting and forecasting, accounting automation, and strategic tax planning. Brian champions a client-centric approach, often remarking, "A CPA firm needs to think of its clients throughout the year, not just at tax time.”

His enthusiasm for the profession is rooted in collaborating with business owners to achieve their organizational objectives and foster opportunities. Brian finds great satisfaction in this aspect of his work, explaining, “Entrepreneurs solve problems; that’s what they do. And to be part of their team, to help them create solutions, that’s the most rewarding part of the job.”

Brian provides strategic consulting to the firm’s small business and nonprofit clients, working closely with entrepreneurs to help them develop sophisticated accounting systems to make more informed business decisions and grow their organizations. As a Service-Disabled Veteran, Brian also works with government contractors, who are often Veterans, to develop strategic cost-cutting systems, multi-state tax strategies, and DCAA Compliance.

Brian graduated from George Mason University. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants. He previously served on Intuit’s QuickBooks Online Advisory Board. Brian is often asked to speak to professional organizations and educational institutions about best practices for business taxes and accounting, and automation.

Brian has twice been recognized as a Top Financial Adviser by Washingtonian Magazine in 2022 and 2024, reflecting his unwavering commitment to excellence. He's also earned recognition on the Top Financial Professionals List by Northern Virginia Magazine in both 2021 and 2023, along with being named the Best Accountant by the Gazette Leader in 2023 and 2024. Wendroff & Associates also has secured the title of Best CPA Firm in Arlington by Arlington Magazine in 2019, 2021, and 2023 and was recognized among 2017's best CPAs in Washington, D.C., by Washingtonian Magazine
